Stacey Hughes is a founding Partner of The Nickles Group, LLC, and one of Washington's most knowledgeable health care policy analysts.
Managing the firm's health care clients, she delivers successful strategies for companies, campaigns, and foundations drawing on almost 20 years of Capitol Hill experience as well as her years representing business interests in Washington.
Stacey is an effective advocate for clients of all sizes, helping them achieve their lobbying goals by applying her in-depth understanding of the federal rule making and budget process.
Stacey served as Deputy Staff Director for the Senate Budget Committee after working in the Assistant Republican Leader's Office where she was instrumental in major health care legislation over the last decade.
A Florida native, Stacey began her Senate career with Senator Connie Mack (R-Fla.) going on to work for Senator William Cohen (R-Maine) and for the Senate Committee on Aging, daily addressing key government initiatives such as Medicare, Social Security, and prescription drugs.
Regularly managing major legislation, Stacey was a negotiator in the conference committee for the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003 and led a 10-member team of senators for more than two years in the successful development and passage of Patient Bill of Rights legislation, running the subsequent House-Senate conference committee.
Stacey has a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.
