Cindi Merifield Tripodi is a founding Partner of The Nickles Group, LLC, specializing in patent, Internet entertainment, and intellectual property issues.
Cindi combines her extensive knowledge of business issues into legislative and policy strategies, creating effective lobbying campaigns for a broad range of clients. She has successfully created and managed a variety of organizations and coalitions uniting various groups to achieve shared goals.
Cindi has worked on major copyright and patent legislation over the past decade including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the Copyright Term Extension Act, and continues to work the Patent Reform Act.
Prior to co-founding The Nickles Group, Cindi was Vice President of Congressional Affairs for the Motion Picture Association of America where she served as Jack Valenti's chief lobbyist. During that time, Cindi helped in creating the television ratings system and helped to launch the Copyright Assembly. She has also worked as Managing Director for Public Strategies, Inc. - a strategic communications firm headquartered in Austin, Texas - and represented the American Medical Association as their principal Senate lobbyist.
Cindi began her career in Washington as a Legislative Assistant for Senator Don Nickles. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas and a law degree from the University of Tulsa.
Cindi serves on the boards of the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, the Television Ratings and Oversight Board, Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) of Northern Virginia, and is the Executive Director of the non-profit organization PauseParentPlay.org.
